  The shop is at 29681 Kansas City Rd, Ste A. La Feria sits in open farm country, so roofs, carports and manufactured homes take wind with little shelter around them. Roofing, remodeling and leveling all start here.

  Harlingen

  Park-model and manufactured-home communities fill much of the area, and many are left closed up while the owners are away. A slow leak or a settled pier can run unseen for months, so a roof and underbelly check before the winter season is worth the call.

  McAllen

  Older stucco homes, newer subdivisions and commercial buildings share the same spring storm track. Hail bruises shingles and wind lifts flashing, and flat commercial roofs need their drains and seams looked at as often as the pitched ones.

  Closest to the Gulf, so named storms, salt air and constant humidity decide how long fasteners, flashing and tie-downs last. Manufactured homes here should have anchors and tie-downs checked to wind-zone spacing, and again after any named storm.

  A mix of established neighborhoods and new construction. The clay soils of the Valley swell when wet and shrink when dry, which is why floors go out of level and doors start to stick. Leveling begins with a full-floor elevation survey, then the estimate.

  Weslaco

  Pier-and-beam houses and manufactured homes sit side by side. Water that pools under a home rots bellyboard and soaks insulation, so drainage is checked along with the underbelly repair and the ductwork that runs through it.

  Mission

  Winter Texan parks and park-model lots call for carports, patio covers and new roofs that can stand up to Valley wind. Footings are sized for wind uplift, and a park-model roof is a small enough job that the old shingles can be hauled away the same day.

• Ridge only

  San Antonio

  Ariston takes roofing work here, not remodeling or leveling. Hail is a bigger factor than in the Valley, which is where impact-rated Class 4 (UL 2218) Owens Corning shingles are worth pricing, with a dated photo report if a claim is involved.
