Water coming through the ceiling: tarp the roof first, repair it once it is dry
Ariston photographs the damage, covers the opening with a fastened tarp, and gives you a written scope for the permanent fix.
The roof is rarely the expensive part
When a leak runs through a storm, the roof is not where the money goes. The ceiling, the insulation, the drywall and the flooring are. Each hour water keeps entering, more of the house below soaks through, which is why stopping it matters more than fixing the roof on the same day.
Water also hides its entry point. It tracks along the decking and down a rafter before it drops, so the ceiling stain is seldom under the failure. After high wind, the usual culprits are lifted or missing shingles, torn flashing and displaced ridge caps. A fallen limb can puncture the surface and the decking beneath it, and a patch on top alone does not fix that.

For an active leak, Ariston prioritizes same-day response across the Valley. During a major storm, calls pile up all over the region and the crew works through them by severity, so you will be told honestly when someone can be there instead of promised a time that cannot be held.
On arrival, the crew photographs the damage before covering anything, because an insurer wants to see the original condition. Then a heavy-duty tarp goes over the affected area, secured properly instead of weighted down, so it holds through the next band of weather. Where a branch has punctured the roof, enough is opened up to see how far the damage runs before it is closed back in.
Emergency work is deliberately temporary. Its job is to stop water entering. Once the roof is dry, Ariston gives you a written scope and a fixed price for the permanent repair or the replacement, and books that work at the same visit, so the tarp has an end date.
What a tarp can and cannot do
A fastened tarp is a real weather barrier, but it lasts weeks, not months. Sun breaks the material down, every fastener is a hole in something, and sustained wind eventually finds an edge. Treat it as time bought for a proper repair and for a claim to be sorted out.
Keep the dated photos and the invoice for the tarp. Many homeowner policies expect reasonable steps to limit further damage, and your insurance company can tell you what yours requires. Ariston is a roofing contractor, so what a policy pays is a question for your insurer.

Ridge to Rooms
Stop the water before it reaches the floor
Catch it
Set containers under the drips and move furniture, rugs and electronics out of the room.
Photograph it
Take dated photos of the ceiling, walls and floor before anything is wiped or removed.
Clear the room
A ceiling holding water sags, darkens and looks glossy. Keep people and pets out of that room, and do not go onto a wet roof.
